The Confederation of Timber Industries (CTI) has launched ‘Timber Talks’, a series of free podcasts debating the hottest topics affecting the UK Timber Industry.
In the first episode, CTI Chairman Roy Wakeman OBE guides the audience though the benefits of Timber, explaining how the Timber Industry contributes to the British economy and why it can help fix the endemic UK housing crisis.
The next podcasts will feature – among the others – David Hopkins (CTI Director and Managing Director of the Timber Trade Federation), Iain McIlwee (CTI Director and CEO of the British Woodworking Federation) and Alex Goodfellow (CTI Director and Managing Director of Stewart Milne Group).
Thanks to these short recordings, it will be possible to hear the movers and shakers within the Timber Industry discussing the latest news, trends and policies, as well as answering the hot questions of the moment. Users can also suggest new topics and raise questions for the speakers by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Roy Wakeman commented: “These podcasts are incredibly useful not only for Timber Industry stakeholders and operators but also for ordinary people keen on learning more about our Sector and its countless branches and opportunities.”
“I believe podcasting is special – it contributes to create a sense of community, is a space for discussion and gives our Industry a powerful voice. Even more importantly, you can listen to podcasts anywhere and at any time – while you do other things at work or at home, or during your commute.”
“I really hope this initiative will help the UK Timber Industry reach a wide audience and stimulate a constructive debate. Stay tuned!”
